A paper published by Unioversity of Sussex researchers has revealed that Nutrasweet has not been adequately proven to be safe for human consumption, with serious flaws uncovered in the 2013 European Food Authority (EFSA) panel regarding the safety of aspartame.
Erik Millstone and Dr Elisabeth Dawson have detailed the serious flaws in the 2013 study regarding the safety of aspartame, more commonly known as Nutrasweet. The new study by Millstone and Dawson reveals the EFSA panel discounted the results of 73 studies that indicated that aspartame could be harmful while treating 84% of studies providing no prima facie evidence of harm as reliable.
Since 1974, scientists have warned of the risks of brain damage, brain lesions, neuroendocrine disorders, and liver and lung cancer from consuming Nutrasweet, which is found in thousands of products including diet soft drinks. The global health advice is to reduce sugar intake, yet the food industry ¬ especially soft drinks ¬ maintains the sweetness by substituting artificial sweeteners.
Professor Millstone is calling for the suspension of authorisation to sell or use aspartame in the EU pending an independent re-examination of documents that were omitted from the dossier the panel reviewed. He is also encouraging a radical overhaul of EU food safety processes, including an end to behind-closed-door discussions.
"In my opinion, based on this research, the question of whether commercial conflicts of interest may have affected the panel's report can never be adequately ruled out because all meetings took place behind closed doors," Professor Millstone said.
The University of Sussex research highlighted the many inadequacies of the EFSA panel, including breaching EFSA guidelines on risk assessment transparency on multiple grounds, adopting low hurdles for the acceptability of negative studies and high hurdles for 'positive' studies indicating adverse effects. The panel demonstrated puzzling anomalies including inconsistent and unacknowledged assumptions. The 2013 EFSA panel also failed to acknowledge the many inadequacies in the reassuring studies but instead highlighted the tiny imperfections in all the studies indicating the risks of aspartame.

So, on Tuesday March 19,2002 I called my sister to see how things went at the biopsy, she told me they ruled out crones disease, and said they told her she had MS.....then it clicked...my friend had sent me an email on nutra sweet thing, and I asked my sister if she drank diet soda. She told me she did drink diet pepsi....and while I was on the phone with her, she was getting ready to crack one open. I told her to stop drinking the diet soda and any other stuff with aspartame in it....she called me the next day....32 hours later....she was crying...I thought "OH NO", what happened...she was crying with joy...she was walking again...her stomach stopped having spasms....she said she felt much much better...and has not had one diet soda in 32 hours....I thought WOW...this is unreal....she took the email to her doctors that day...he was amazed at her recovery, gave her a big hug, and informed her that he was going to contact all his MS patients to find out their diet. I live in FL, so when my sister got here on March 22,2002, we went dancing....and she didnt need a wheel chair.....

I lived near Columbia, MD and worked as a temp. It was the late 80's and Regan had been elected president. I was a national officer in the largest christian singles organization and needed to travel a lot so I worked as a prfessional temp.
I was sent from a Laural, Md tem agency to an office complex at a corner intersection near Jessup, Md ( I can find out the exact location if you really need it). I am an executive secretary w/ high skills and made top dollar. This job paid top dollar. I was asked to take piles of paper and COPY, THEN SHRED them. I was told very sternly NOT to read the material and that if I did I would be fired. Well, I grew up in the military in the 60's w/ secrets all around and I'm very curious. I am afterall a paralegal. So, I read while copied and read while shredded.
Here's what was going on. The copies were being sent to France, then I was shredding them, too and the originals were being shredded. They were about the new product not yet on the market, EQUAL. They were the lab results from the tested rats and other animals. The results were outrageous. This stuff killed everything it touched.
I overheard a conversation on the second day by the "boss" and the girls who was telling me what to do. She told him what I was doing and that I was also doing the faxing to France. He was livid and started screaming at her, "What if she reads some of this stuff?" she told him I was too stupid to know what I was reading, even if I did.What she didn't know was that I was a doctor's daughter, that I had 3 years of college and I was extremely intelligent. Nor did she know that all during my father's college years when he was in charge of the animal lab at his college, he would take me to help give the rats their injections. I knew what I was reading.
We know that you know some of this information, but did you know the originals are in France? I should have told someone then, but WHO? I just never touched the stuff when it came out and tell everyone I know it is dangerous stuff. I didn't know it was the Aspartame in it that was the problem until recently. A friend of mine sent me to this web site so that I could finally tell what I know.
I hope you find that the Reagan Administration (which I believe is the case) did this intentionally. though I'm a republican, that has nothing to do with what happened here.
If they can take Neuronton or other drugs off the market because of their effect on people, they can take this off the market. The cover-up is horrific.Thx for what you do.
