This is the original memo saying that Searle, the original manufacturer of aspartame, should be indicted for criminal violations of the law. Thanks to Lane Shore for scanning it in. So when the FDA talks about the most widely tested and safe product, you know the studies did not show safety. What it did show is their intent to get this approved, however they had to do it.
