Thrombocytopenia is lowered platelets. Platelets are cells in your blood marrow that stick together to help it clot.
Your body can destroy too many platelets by autoimmune diseases such as lupus or idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), where your own body attacks healthy cells. Dr. James Bowen explains the aspartame mechanism: "The ability of methyl alcohol/formaldehyde to create antigenicity, especially as combined in aspartame molecules is so great as to cause severe autoimmune reactions to the tissues deformed by formaldehyde polymerization, adduct formation. The immune system turns against the victim's tissues: Lupus."

There are also environmental hazards. Consider the chemical Toluene methylbenzene (Anisen or Toluol). It's interesting that it is used in many industrial processes including the production of Coca Cola.
Lane Shore had mouth cancer while using aspartame. He did not know that aspartame is a carcinogen, and it was admitted by the FDA themselves (FDA scientist, Dr. Adrian Gross, to the Senate on 8/1/85). Off aspartame he did well and went on to become Mission Possible Chicago. An excellent researcher he even found Jerome Bressler who did the famous Bressler Report http://www.mpwhi.com/complete_bressler_report.pdf He was then retired from FDA and highly upset that they had sealed the teratology studies from his report so pregnant women would not know aspartame causes birth defects. In G. D. Searle's study it showed neural tube defects, spina bifida and cleft palate for starters. It took me 8 years to find them and they are now restored. Before he died he told me he had had to live with knowledge that aspartame is a chemical poison and teratogen and his own FDA had sold out.
Lane's wife had worked for the NutraSweet Company and he was unsuccessful in getting her off of it because of the addiction. She is a diabetic and had over 60 operations. Now she has lost both legs no doubt from the free methyl alcohol. Lane told me he has lost 24 members of his family from aspartame. Unfortunately his wife does the cooking and obviously used aspartame. Lane was found walking around after he crashed his car not even realizing he had an accident. He was taken to a hospital and said: "Aspartame made my platelets drop to one." I told him perhaps he should eat in restaurants. He was prescribed an Rx for the problem but knew it was from aspartame and didn't take it. Off aspartame his platelets returned to normal.
I've written this article because I was in a hematologist's office just recently. In discussing aspartame with the nurses I happened to say: "I have a friend who had one platelet." A patient taking iron replied: "I have one platelet and drink Diet Coke!" In fact, she was drinking it at the time. I wish I could follow her and see how quickly her platelets return to normal off aspartame.
What aspartame has done to the world is more than criminal. The mass poisoning is an abomination. From the standpoint of hematology how many doctors understand the consequences of taking an addictive, genetically engineered, carcinogenic drug, adjuvant and teratogen that not only interacts with other drugs and vaccines but causes the blood cancers and blood dyscrasias? Most physicians think aspartame is an additive but it's an excitoneurotoxic drug! You're actually ingesting poison with aspartame so it devastates the body.

It was marketed through the political chicanery of Don Rumsfeld, and President Ronald Reagan helped by writing an executive order which prevented the FDA Commissioner, Dr. Jeri Goyan, from signing the revoked petition into law. Then he fired Dr. Goyan. Today aspartame disease is known as Rumsfeld's Plague.
In 2006 Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D. commented on aspartame and the first Ramazzini Study showing such diseases as leukemia. It was peer reviewed by 7 world experts: He said: "The new study released in the European Journal of oncology by Morando Soffritti and co-workers should terrify mothers and all those consuming aspartame sweetened products. This was a carefully done study which clearly demonstrated a statistically significant increase in several types of lymphomas and leukemias in rats. Both of these malignancies have increased significantly in this country since the widespread use of aspartame.
"This study confirmed the previous study by Dr. Trocho and co-workers, which also found the formaldehyde breakdown product of aspartame to be damaging to cellular DNA and that this damage was accumulative. The type of damage was a duplicate of that associated with cancers. Along with this most recent study, this means that drinking a single diet cola sweetened with aspartame every day could increase one's risk of developing a lymphoma or leukemia.
"They also found an increased incidence of malignant brain tumors, even though it was not statistically significant. This does not mean there is no association to brain tumors, since only the animals exposed to aspartame developed the tumors. With children and pregnant women drinking the largest amount of diet colas, this puts their children at the greatest risk of developing one of these horrible diseases. Their study found that even low doses of aspartame could cause these malignancies; yet, the higher the dose, the more cancers that were seen.
"Since aspartame can increase obesity and may even cause the metabolic syndrome that affects 48 million Americans, there is no reason to ever consume this product. At the least it should be immediately banned from all schools."

There have now been three Ramazzini Studies done by Dr. Morando Soffritti who received a prestigious award which had only been given twice in history.
Industry fought the results of the studies making such absurd statements as: "The rats had respiratory disease". Dr. Soffritti answered them by saying" this was a lifetime study. Respiratory disease is the dying process and the rats were dying." His entire rebuttal is brilliant but industry, EFSA and the FDA couldn't answer it. In fact, the head of the committee of EFSA, Dr. Herman Koeter resigned saying they were pressured by industry to hijack science. Harvard bragged this is the longest and strongest study linking aspartame with cancer. Leukemia was associated with diet soda intake in both sexes. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in men.
The point is aspartame has been linked to the blood cancers from multiple myeloma to leukemia. After bragging it being the longest and strongest Harvard caved into industry and apologized for publishing it. In summary, the FDA, the Ramazzini Studies and Harvard have confirmed aspartame is a carcinogen, just for starters. The Ramazzini Studies showed that aspartame is a carcinogenic agent inducing a significant dose related increased incidence of several types of malignant tumors and among them hematological neooplasias. Then later this was confirmed by Harvard's human studies.
Consider that Jehovah's Witnesses do not accept blood transfusions. What chance of survival with aspartame increasing the growth of cancer?

Big Pharma knows aspartame causes cancer. They just made a new leukemia drug and yes aspartame is in it. It's a ghastly game of Russian Roulette with Big Pharma running the FDA and allowing anything they want. Be careful it's in thousands of drugs.
