Between 106,000 and 196,000 people die each year in U.S. Hospitals from properly prescribed drugs. Over 2 million suffer serious side effects. (JAMA, April 15, 1998). (Aspartame Interaction? Dietitians flood hospitals with aspartame, Equal, etc.)
32,000 suffer hip fractures annually including 1500 deaths from drug-induced falls (USA Today, July 29, 1994).
7600 deaths and 76,000 annual hospitalizations are due to internal bleedings caused by non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs, most used for arthritis. Forty-one percent of these prescriptions are unnecessary (Ann Intern Med, 1997; 127:429-438).
If you take just one non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory (Motrin, Datril, Anacin, Ibuprofen etc.) drug every four days, over your lifetime you will have nine times the normal risk for vital organ damage (kidney failure, liver failure, etc.) (New England Journal of Medicine, 1994).
Merck & Co.’s arthritis drug Vioxx may have led to more than 27,000 heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths before it was pulled from the market. The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a study by the Food and Drug Administration, that from Vioxx’s approval in 1999 through 2003, an estimated 27,785 heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths would have been avoided if Celebrex, a competing drug made by Pfizer Inc., had been used instead of Vioxx.
Drug “problems” each year cost as much as $182 billion, kill as many as 198,815 people, put 8.8 million in hospitals, and account for up to 28% of all hospital admissions (American Medical News; Jan.15, 1996 P.11).
Natural supplements on the other hand, have a considerably better safety record than drugs (in fact orders of magnitude safer). Unfortunately, the FDA is threatening to ban my access to new dietary supplements.
WHO HAS DIED FROM VITAMINS?
In contrast, Tylenol alone has killed about 20,000 and has caused about 60,000 liver transplants since its introduction

Subject: Question to FDA: Who Has Died on Vitamins
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), "Adverse drug reactions are the fourth leading cause of death in America. Reactions to prescription and over-the-counter medications kill far more people annually than all illegal drug use combined." (Martini: Aspartame interacts with drugs and vaccines and FDA refuses to answer citizens petition for ban or imminent health hazard amendment. Even though they revoked the petition for approval and tried to have the manufacturer indicted they lie to the public saying its safe and refuse to take it off the market. Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, http://www.sunsentpress.com by H. J. Roberts, M.D. has a chapter on drug interaction. At one time over 70 per cent of the population was using it. How many has aspartame killed?

Over half of the U.S. population takes daily nutritional supplements. Even if each of those people took only one single tablet daily, that makes 154,000,000 individual doses per day, for a total of over 56 billion doses annually. Since many persons take more than just one vitamin or mineral tablet, actual consumption is considerably higher, and the safety of nutritional supplements is all the more remarkable. If nutritional supplements are allegedly so "dangerous," as the FDA and news media so often claim, then where are the bodies?
