For the past several years I have been warning everyone about using the "Ancestry" website DNA testing and the "23 and Me" website DNA testing. Both claim to keep it confidential and to never share it or sell the information to anyone. Yet law enforcement has repeatedly said time and time again how the DNA testing on these sites has been of use to them in solving crimes. Now the "23 and Me" company has filed for bankruptcy, so who will they be selling all of that DNA information to? We know that the government, and who knows how many other agencies and companies have had access and copied it.
There was a big push by these companies to use their services for "tracking your ancestry" and "where you come from," which many people fell for, not realizing that their genetic property is also being shared without their consent. The government loved these sites and their getting people to use them. The government is obviously very interested in everyone's DNA, and seems to be actively trying to get samples from everyone in the country. The government is on the lookout for some specific type of DNA or something in it. For what dark purpose? Only the government knows.
